5000 Input Module Allen Bradley 5069-IB8S DC Safety Easy Maintenance

The Allen-Bradley 5069-IB8S is a Compact 5000 I/O module. This module is a digital eight (8) channel safety input module. It supports a sink wiring configuration and is suitable for applications requiring Safety Integrity Level (SIL) CL3 and PLe, Cat. 4 as specified by international standards IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 62061, and ISO 13849-1.

This module can be used as a local module for any Compact GuardLogix 5380 controller. It can also be used as a distributed I/O component for GuardLogix 5580 controllers.

The 5069-IB8S features eight (8) safety input channels. It also has two (2) test output channels and two (2) test output/mute output channels. To achieve the expected ratings of the 5069-IB8S, the controller components as well as the input devices must meet certain criteria, including fault exclusion (external wiring faults), the sensors used are also SIL CL3, PLd, and Cat. 3 rated, and configured as follows: Input Point Mode = Safety Pulse Test, Test Output Mode = Pulse Test, Input Point Mode = Safety, Test Output Mode = Power.

The 5069-IB8S has input ratings of 2.5 mA per channel, test output ratings of 300 mA per channel, MOD power of 75 mA @ 18-32V DC, maximum MOD power draw of 5 A @ 18-32V DC, SA power of 100 mA @ 18-32V DC, maximum SA power draw of 9.95 A @ 18-32V DC.

The 5069-IB8S safety input module is a local device, meaning it resides in the same system as the controller. The module is mounted to the right of the controller and exchanges data through the system backplane. Access to the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 5069-IB8S Safety Input Module can be protected by passwords, physical barriers (such as locked cabinets), and by deploying EtherNet/IP devices.
